TBT - Little House on the Prairie

Our first field trip of the school year we attended the Littleton Historic Museum with our homeschool group. This 1800's museum lets you  explore farm life with two different living history farms from the 19th century. This was actually our second time visiting the museum so some pictures are captured from our first visit the year before.

Butterflies and Insects!

HomeFor our April field trip we attended the Butterfly Pavilion with our homeschool group. The kids had so much fun learning about butterflies, spiders, and all of the different insects.

We started off the day attending a "Buggy Basics I" class where the children learned about the different types of invertebrates (an animal lacking a backbone) including a Madagascar Hissing cockroach. Then we had a picnic lunch outside before we walked through the Butterfly Pavilion.

Throwback Thursday - First Day of School

Since I started this blog late into the school year I thought it would be fun post pictures and events that happened before we began. What's a better time to start than the beginning of the school year.

Velocity vs. Speed

In physical science, Javi has been studying velocity. We did a fun experience with eggs to see the difference of velocity versus speed. (I think they had more fun breaking the eggs).

Goodnight Moon

This week we have been doing a unit study on Goodnight Moon written by Margaret Wise Brown. We have adapted our unit study from Before Five In A Row (BFIAR).

We learned about how God created moon, a song, learned the nursery rhyme   "Hey Diddle Diddle", and built a moon mobile.

St. Patrick's Day

We celebrated St. Patrick's Day with our homeschool group. The boys had lots of fun learning about St. Patrick's missionary work in Ireland and eating Irish food and green cupcakes.
