TBT - Little House on the Prairie

Our first field trip of the school year we attended the Littleton Historic Museum with our homeschool group. This 1800's museum lets you  explore farm life with two different living history farms from the 19th century. This was actually our second time visiting the museum so some pictures are captured from our first visit the year before.

First stop was a 1860 cabin which was really cool going inside the little cabin and seeing what life was like. The employees get in costume and are around to help answer any questions you have regarding the time era. However, going through my pictures, I realized I didn't take any of this cabin... boo. We did get to see the cellar and different animals. The cellar does remind me of something out of the Shire!
Next we stopped by the school house and tried to imagine walking a mile or so to get to school (much different then waking up and doing school in your pajamas).

Next stop was the blacksmith shop. Although you could not go in the shop you could still get a visual of all the tools used by blacksmiths.
Lastly, we stop by the 1890's farm house. Once again I did not get any pictures if the outside but a few from inside. The farm house had a chicken coop and a garden along the house.
There was so much to see, more then what I featured here. We had a very fun time learning how life was like during the 19th century.
